Installing the Simplfied Chinese (PRC) keyboard for Windows XP

These language components are rarely pre-installed and you must have the CD in order to install them. Before beginning this installation, make sure the Windows XP CD has been inserted!

1. Open Start menu, click on Settings, Click Contol Panel

Open Regional and Language Options

2. Click the Languages tab. Check the second box and then click Apply

Wait until Windows has installed the necessary components.

3. Click the Details... button (in the section above the checked boxes).

4. Click the Add... button

5. Select Chinese(PRC) from the drop down list.

6. It will pick an IME for you. Click OK

To type in Chinese, click the Language Bar icon at the very bottom of your computer screen. Select CH - Chinese (PRC)
