SCOLA is a non-profit educational organization that receives and re-transmits television programming from around the world in native languages. These programs are available free to the KU community via the Internet to support the learning of foreign languages and engagement with global issues. The service provides 24 hour programming on five channels, including separate channels for Europe, Latin America, The People's Republic of China, Central and Eastern Asia, as well as Africa and the Middle East. Files are fully-downloadable and available on a six-day rolling archive. SCOLA also provides a limited number of Insta-Lessons, which consist of a video and audio clip of a segment of native language news broadcasts that have been transcribed and translated. For more information on this service, or suggestions on integrating SCOLA into your curriculum, please contact EGARC at egarc@ku.edu.
